A Close Encounter with Laurence Donaghy at Falls Road Library, 5 February

On Thursday 5 February at 7:15pm Laurence Donaghy will be welcomed to Falls Library Belfast to talk about his latest book Folk’d Up.  Donaghy will delight his audience disclosing anecdotes from ‘Folk’d Up’ which mixes modern themes with folklore; sci-fi fans will love this newest adventure with just a dollop of Northern Irish style!  The evening will appeal to fans that enjoy quests of a mythological nature but set in modern, familiar times. This is an excellent opportunity to engage with the author, discover what inspires him and enable a preview of his work. The event is part of Libraries NI author collection showcasing home-grown talent.

Laurence has been writing for several years and his intense second novel quenches the thirst for fans of the exciting Folk’d trilogy.   He grew up in Belfast developing a passion for sci-fi and mythology bringing these to his storylines, interspersing them with Belfast banter and straight-forward dialogue. His books are a fast-paced read but written without too many complicated metaphors.
