Description

Nigel Williams cared passionately about the welfare of children and young people. When he became Northern Ireland's First Children's Commissioner, he stepped into his dream job. As a civil servant, political lobbyist, local councillor and social entrepreneur, he had already made his mark. Now he delighted in the opportunities this new role gave him to ensure that children's rights were respected and their voices heard. Tragically, his work was cut short by terminal cancer. Nigel battled ill-health with the determination, courage, hope and faith that had characterised every chapter of his colourful career. Ever creative, in the weeks before he died he envisaged this book: an account of his experiences - the highs, the lows, the priorities, the risks, the deep joys and fulfillment. He hoped that it might encourage others to enter public service and, above all, to live life to the full. The foreword is by Alf McCreary. All royalties from this book will go to The Care Leadership Program for Christian Graduates.
