Since The Ulster Fry was founded in January 2015, it has become the go-to site for satire and parody news stories for Northern Ireland. Within a fortnight of starting, the site’s spoof story about the world’s first crisp sandwich café went viral, and led to the setting up of a real crisp sandwich takeaway, Simply Crispy.  Since then, the site has gone from strength to strength and now boasts a community of over 44,000 followers.
